What HandyMan is
HandyMan is a marketplace that connects customers with independent service professionals ("pros"). Pros are not HandyMan employees; they set their own rates, services and hours.
Bookings
A booking is a request to a pro for a job at a date and time window. It becomes confirmed when the pro accepts it. Customers pay the pro’s hourly rate for time worked, with a one-hour minimum, plus agreed expenses and a booking fee.
Payments
When you book, an authorization hold is placed on your payment method for the estimated high end of the job. You are charged when you approve the pro’s invoice, or automatically 48 hours after it is submitted if you neither approve nor report a problem.
Quoted projects and escrow
Quoted projects are governed by a contract divided into milestones. Funds for each milestone are held until the customer approves the work, until five days pass after the pro submits it, or until a mediator decides a dispute.
Cancellations
See the Cancellation Policy. In short: free until 24 hours before the job, or before the pro confirms; later cancellations cost one hour of the pro’s time plus the booking fee on it.
Conduct
Keep communication and payments on HandyMan, treat others with respect, and follow the Community Guidelines. We may suspend accounts that do not.
